Symbiosis

Symbiosis is a visual dialog in which Georges and Mathijs showcase their unique perspectives on the connection between man and nature. By putting their works side by side a rich conversation appears. Both the harmony and the alienation between man and nature get the spotlight.

The colorful and energetic paintings show both the joy of connecting with nature, as well as the pain of that slipping away. Where one celebrates the joining of man and nature, the other puts emphasis on the moments where our bond gets broken. This interaction offers visitors a chance at both recognition as well as reflection on their own place in the natural world.
